Pledge

All students that meet the above requirements may apply for membership in the fall, winter or spring. The pledge process must be completed prior to the initiation banquet for an applicant (pledge) to be initiated with their pledge class. Initial requirements include achieving a minimum of 30 points (awarded based upon event attendance). Points system is as follows:

  • Social Event – 5 points

  • Professional Event – 10 points

  • Service Event - 15 points

Pledges must acquire 30 points in the quarter of application to be inducted.

Candidate

To kickstart students' involvement in Beta Alpha Psi, the DePaul Chapter has started a candidacy program.  The Candidacy program allows students to gain premier access to Beta Alpha Psi’s resources prior to pledge or membership eligibility.

The Candidacy Program is open to students enrolled in Accounting 101 or 102 who have not met the course requirements to pledge the organization.

There are three stages to the candidacy program. If you complete each stage within one academic year, you will be an official member by the beginning of the following academic year (allowing you to be one quarter ahead of your peers):

Stage 1 - First Quarter of Candidacy: Apply to be a candidate

  • No event attendance requirements, BUT we highly recommend attending at least 2 professional and 1 social event(s).

Stage 2 - Second Quarter: Complete Pledge Requirements

  • Attend the required number of events to complete your pledge requirements

Stage 3 - Third Quarter: Be inducted as an official member of Beta Alpha Psi

All freshmen/sophomore candidates are automatically enrolled in BAP's Peer Mentorship Program! Click here to learn more about the program!
